Web Development
I've been writing PHP and building websites since 1999, though I've been coding in various other languages (like Apple Basic and C++) since around 1987. Coding is one of my great loves, though the real beauty to me lies in finding elegant solutions, and seeing an idea transform itself into a slick finished project.
Most of those years were spent coding on the side, either personal projects, or paying client work. Since January, 2009, I've been a full-time professional freelance Web Developer. I've worked on everything from small html-only websites, to large web applications.

Somewhere around 2006 I found the CodeIgniter PHP Framework and fell in love with it's simplicity and power. Over the years, I've found certain bits of code that I re-use on almost every site, so I started packaging them into libraries and releasing them to the community. You can read more information about my current code, if you'd like.
As a CMS, I have done a ton of work with both WordPress and modx and have often wished that I could just combine the two of them. Maybe one of these days I will.
When it comes to Javascript, I don't think anything can compete with the beauty and simplicity of jQuery.
